Mr Spencer

Spencer is a versatile musician and dedicated educator based in Alpharetta, Georgia. Born and raised in Metro-Atlanta, Spencer began his musical journey at a young age, learning drums as a toddler before taking his first guitar lessons at age six with Steve Freeman, founder of the Atlanta Institute of Music. Spencer’s formative years included marching band, drumline, and jazz band at Milton High School, where he also performed in theater productions like 9 to 5 and Cabaret. After earning a degree in Music and Technology from the Atlanta Institute of Music, Spencer began performing as lead guitarist, vocalist, and producer for the rock band Rae and the Ragdolls, opening for acts like Mavis Staples and Drive-By Truckers. He also performs with MOONLARK, collaborating with BAPA alumni Kaylan Royston. Outside of his career in music, he’s worked as a coach teaching guitar, bass, ukulele, and keys at Music Authority and Heritage School of Performing Arts in Cumming Georgia. Spencer’s teaching philosophy emphasizes creativity, self-expression, and fostering a deep connection with music.
