Tap dance at Bapa School in Marietta, GA
Tap dance was developed in the United Statesduring the nineteenth century, and is a very popular style of dance. The name comes from the tapping sound made when the small metal plates on the dancer's shoes touch a hard surface. This lively, rhythmic tapping makes the performer not just a dancer, but also a percussive musician.
At BAPA Tap classes start with the basics and build solid tap technique in a fun and supportive environment. Exercises, improvisation skills, and simple combinations give a foundation for learning tap repertory in higher levels. All students are required to take ballet at beginner levels to complement and build upon their dance skills. All students are placed in class according to tap level, age and motor skills.
