ADC was created in 1987 by the renowned Ann Avery Burton as an opportunity for the students of the school to further expand their skills and talents in ballet, above and beyond their formally scheduled classes. ADC was later developed under the leadership of Wynn Wise-McCurdy. Dancers audition each year for the Company, and each dancer must exhibit a clear aptitude in ballet and other dance styles. As member of ADC dancers are given the additional opportunity of performing in two ballets per year, working with visiting Professional Master Teachers, Choreographers and Professional Dancers. This is the perfect forum for committed dancers to develop and share their passion and dancing talent with their community.
ADC is lead by Marsha Newton the Artistic Director, Bethany Butts as Ballet Mistress with an Artistic Teaching Team of: Jennifer Plumley, Marie Mathis, Miss Corday, Marina Lavasheva, Xavier Demar, Amanda Farris, and Caroline Laubacher.
ADC represents a collaboration by the dancers which crosses all ages; we pride ourselves in offering dancers both exceptional training and a wide variety of performance opportunities each season, this is available to all our company members.
Many of the dances performed each season are new, original works, choreographed specifically for ADC dancers, this presents an amazing opportunity for dancers to work with choreographers on new and exciting performances again and again!
Entrance to ADC is by audition, please contact the studio for more information.
